Counselling

a safe place, a place to be heard …

Counselling is a type of talking therapy that allows you to talk about your problems and feelings in a confidential and safe environment.

Your counsellor will listen with empathy and help you deal with any negative thoughts and feelings you have.

Sometimes the term “counselling” is used to refer to talking therapies in general, but counselling is also a type of therapy in its own right.

In theory, it is less “in-depth” than psychotherapy in that it is less concerned with understanding the core reasons for the problems being experienced. In reality however, there is considerable overlap between these two talking therapies.

How Can Counselling Help Me?

Counselling can help with many issues. To be heard with empathy, compassion and honesty is a vital part of the bond you and your counsellor will create between you. Once you feel safe and able to fully express how you feel, the process of change can begin within you.
