Improving Sports Performance – Psychological Skills Training

This informative and interactive training is held in The Lansdowne Hotel, a beautiful seafront hotel in Eastbourne. It is a half day program that will give you the tools and techniques to harness your mental powers for optimum sports performance.

It is likely that you pay a lot of attention to keeping your body fit and able to perform well. This is of course a vital aspect of sports training. Most sportspeople (below the elite level) pay scant attention to psychological training though. Whilst you wouldn’t run a marathon or play 90 minutes of football after a training regime consisting entirely of watching TV, drinking beer and eating chocolate, you may be doing something similar to your mind.

Elite sportspeople now pay as much attention to Psychological Sports Training as they do to physical training. There is a reason for this. It gives you a big advantage, particularly in those important events where stress, fatigue or nerves can massively influence your performance. The good news is that you can now benefit from this knowledge too, giving you that competitive advantage over your opponents or spurring you on to meet your personal challenge.

What will I gain from the Workshop?

  • Understand the effects of anxiety and arousal in sports performance and how to harness them.
  • How to gain self-confidence and self-efficacy.
  • How to avoid burnout.
  • Understand the different mindset needed for optimum individual and team performance.
  • How to improve concentration and optimise your time “in the zone”.
  • Learn the importance of appropriate goal setting and how to do it effectively.
  • How to use imagery to create “past successes” before they happen.
  • Learn powerful self-hypnosis techniques to improve all aspects of your mental readiness.
